The payment screen with the numpad, quick amounts and the list of payment methods
Watch it: open the table, press PAY, check the amount and Complete (20 seconds).

A payment always belongs to an order. The POS sends the order to the server first if it is not saved yet, then records the payment. How much is paid and how much is still owed is always worked out from the completed payments on the server, not from a number on the screen, so a payment can never be counted twice.

  1. With the order in the cart, tap Cash in the cart footer.
  2. Read the “Confirm Cash Payment” window (“This will immediately process a cash payment for the full order amount”) and tap “Yes, Cash”. Cancel closes it.
  3. The order is saved if needed and the full remaining balance is paid in cash. A receipt prints if “Receipt On Quick Cash” is on, and the drawer opens if “Open Drawer On Cash” is on.
  4. The button becomes Settle (see below).

Take payment on the Payment screen with change

Section titled “Take payment on the Payment screen with change”
  1. Tap Pay in the button column. The Payment screen opens.
  2. Check the order items and totals in the left column.
  3. Type the amount the customer gave on the number pad, or tap a quick amount: the exact balance (top button), 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100, or All, Balance or Round.
  4. The “Charged” box shows the amount and underneath either “Change”, “Short” or “Exact”.
  5. Tap the payment method (for example Cash). A “Confirm Payment” window shows the amount, the method and the “Remaining after”.
  6. Tap Confirm. If you typed more than the balance, only the balance is recorded and the extra is your change.
  1. On the Payment screen type an amount smaller than the balance.
  2. Tap a payment method and confirm. The payment is recorded.
  3. The cart footer shows each payment and “Remaining Due”. Repeat with another method until the balance is zero.
  1. On the Payment screen type the number of people in the “N (people)” box on the right.
  2. Tap “÷ N = Split”. The Charged box shows one share. If you leave the box empty it divides by 2.
  3. Tap a payment method and confirm. Repeat for each person.
  1. On the Payment screen tap Split Pay. The Split Payment window opens with two rows.
  2. On each row choose a Payment Method and type an Amount. The button “= amount” on a row fills what is left.
  3. Tap + Add Method for more rows. The bin removes a row (you always keep at least two). “÷ Split Equally” shares the total evenly.
  4. The “Split Total” turns green when it matches the amount shown above it. On an order that is already part paid the window says “Remaining Balance” and you split only what is still owed. Tap Process Split Payment.
  1. Attach the customer first (Cust), or tap On Account and pick the customer when asked.
  2. The customer must be an Account customer. A customer marked as simple cannot buy on credit and you see a message with their name.
  3. Tap On Account on the Payment screen and confirm. The amount goes to the customer’s account.
  4. The small pencil or person button next to On Account lets you change or remove the customer, with a confirmation.
  1. Place the order first. Split needs a saved order and says “Create order before splitting” otherwise.
  2. Tap Split. The window “Split Bill - Select Items” opens.
  3. Tap each item to move. For items with a quantity above one, set “Qty to split”.
  4. Optionally pick a free table under “Move split items to a table”, or choose “No table”.
  5. Tap Create New Order. The selected items move to a new order. The original order keeps the rest. Pay each order separately.
  1. When the order is fully paid, the Cash button in the cart footer turns into a green Settle button.
  2. Tap Settle. The table is freed and the cart is cleared. If you have no table, the order is completed on the server first.
  1. On the Payment screen tap Open drawer. You see “Cash drawer opened”. The button only shows if you have pos.open_drawer or pos.no_sale.

Collect money from a customer who owes you

Section titled “Collect money from a customer who owes you”
  1. Open the Customers tab and open the customer.
  2. Tap Collect Payment. The amount is pre-filled with what they owe.
  3. Tap 25%, 50%, 75% or Full, or type an amount. Choose the Payment Method. Add a note if you want.
  4. Tap Collect Payment. If they paid more than they owed, the extra is kept as advance and the message says so.
  • A pricing error on the last item blocks every payment until you fix the item.
  • A bill-printed (locked) ticket must be paid in full. Part payments are refused with “Ticket is locked”.
  • An order that is already paid shows “Order already paid. Click Settle to close.”
  • The Complete button refuses an amount lower than the balance and tells you to enter the full amount or use Split Pay.
  • If the connection drops while a payment is sent, the POS checks the order before it tells you what happened: either “Payment confirmed (recovered after network hiccup)” or “Network error - payment NOT confirmed. Check the order before retrying.”
